Oh its been a Long Long TIme

Its been a long time.

Sorry.

Have been really busy. Learning new things and trying out different stuff. However, I have a few nice pieces to share.

I love to work with wire, especially copper. I also love Gemstone Beads.  Add some handmade patina shades of oxidation and you have some true Anqa Jewelry.


The first is a necklace. I call it Carnelian De Cuivre : (17 inches)  Antiqued and hammered delight. the Primary materials are Carnelian Stone Beads of Differing natural Shades of Red, Copper Spacer Beads, and a copper Rose that sits on its side. It also has a contrasting mix of agate and white to pink quartz stones and crystals. There are also Czech crystals and a few Swavorski. The Necklace is sturdy and heavy, but not so heavy that you will hurt yourself wearing it!

I made this personally with a fortified stringing method. It would be a shame for such a gorgeous mix of beautiful stones, crystals, and beads to be lost from breakage. Not going to happen with this piece. It is Double strung, and additionally held by doubled Crimp Beads. The crimp beads are in turn covered by a tightly wrapped pieces of filigree metal material. 

The Pendant is the Focal Piece, the highlight of the necklace. It is a hand crafted Pendant. I smith-ed and worked solid copper wire into shape and cemented an Authentic Carnelian Cabochon to its center. The copper is hand patina-ed, antiqued to give it a a vintage look. It is not sealed with any chemicals or sealants so it will age exquisitely as well.  If by chance you prefer a lighter or brighter copper, you can easily get that look with a good cleansing with ketchup or lemon juice with water rinse. Carnelian Stones are stones of action, that will give you the courage and confidence to move forward on a new path in life.
In ancient times it was a stone used to protect the dead on their journey to the after-life.
It is strong stone to aid the physical body, as it maintains an improved flow of life force energy via the blood.
The vibration of this bright orange stone, will accelerate your motivation, and aid you to clarify your goals, so you can find your best direction in life.
This power stone stimulates ambition and drive, so it will aid you in manifesting what you require to move onto your desired path forward in life.

Although, it has many ways to be used in  Home Decor etc., Carnelian is meant for jewelry. It has a warm, joyful, and energizing presence. 

The Copper is said to transmit the power of the Carnelian to the wearer more readily. It helps the grounding effect without draining and it smooths thoughts, emotions and energies.
